Paradise Found

Christy Monge

My husband and I took our first vacation without the kids in years. I’d never been to Hawaii and I never need to look for another vacation spot! I found paradise! The playful swirls in the DT Piper font reflect the ocean waves I came to love and didn’t want to leave. The soft colors of the “Promise” kit matched my relaxed mood and the atmosphere of Hawaii.

Morning Mugs

Jaclyn Keys

I created these monogrammed mugs as a gift for my sister and brother-in-law, Jen and Martin, who celebrated their 7 year wedding anniversary earlier this summer. Jen loves hot-tea and Martin is a coffee drinker, so I thought they would be a beautiful and useful gift to either display or use. The Duetica DT Woodwynds font looks great as a stand alone letter.  They were easy to make, just traced the lettering with porcelain markers.

SUPPLIES:
Porcelain mugs (2 white, 1 black)
Black and White porcelain markers (I used Pebeo Porcelain Pens from Micheal’s)
Silhouette adhesive vinyl and Silhouette heart clipart to create the stencil used for the monograms and shape

All Tangled

Lori Servies

My favorite papercraft is creating handmade cards. I also love to make and create all things with paper. However, sometimes the best way to convey an idea is digitally. This is true for handmade invitations. Unless you are just adding simple text to a pre-made invite or only making a small number of “from scratch” invitations, digital is the way to go. I found a really cute background picture of the movie “Tangled.” This movie was and is very popular with young girls and makes a great base for an invitation. Using a picture of a popular movie makes it easy to coordinate your invitations, your thank-you notes, your paper supplies, and your decorations for the party. You could choose any background; one that works for a little boy, one that works for an adult party, or even make your own. Invitations are also a great project to show-off the Duetica Fonts. It is so easy to create your text, save it as a picture file and then import it onto your background picture. I hope this project inspires you to make your own invitations to match whatever party you are throwing!

My Girl Alley

Jaclyn Keys

This layout is part of a scrapbook album I am making of my family. With my sister being a photographer and my mother and I both dabbling in photography, there is no shortage of beautiful photos of every member of our family. Being off on my own, my cat Alley is my constant companion. For this digital layout, I used a combination of digital kits, including ribbon and flower embellishments. The Duetica DT Mandolyn font was the “perrrfect” touch expressing Alley’s feminine feline side, along with her elegance and grace.

Sweet Evalyn Rose

Keri Lee Sereika

Our dear friends just welcomed their first child into the world and I felt that a personalized welcome card would be JUST RIGHT to include with the dinner I will be bringing to them. For this card I decided to go a bit “upscale” and there’s nothing like the Duetica DT Mandolyn fonts to give me just that feel. I used both the DT Mandolyn 1 and Mandolyn 2 fonts. I wanted to really work the swashes on the letters and that is one of the joys of the Duetica Fonts! They have SO MANY OPTIONS that you just keep playing till the text is exactly the way you want it. I then decided to print the text at a size that I could make it the “focal image” of my finished project. And as a final finishing touch, I decided I would print the text in the colors that my friend Michelle has picked our for Sweet Evalyn’s Nursery….talk about a personalized gift!!! 🙂

Turtles – Jewels of the Sea

Christy Monge

You may have to look a little hard to find the turtles in these photos but we didn’t have to look hard to find them in Hawaii! They were everywhere! My husband thought my obsession with them was a bit crazy. In Hawaii, they are considered a sign of good luck and a long life. I hope so because I saw a lot. I used the Duetica DT Piper font again to match the playful mood of the layout, and the beautiful turtle embellishment was perfect for this jewel of the sea!

Believe in Magnets

Becky Conley

The Duetica Lettering System is both fun and easy. You can personalize and create fun things like cards or even Fridge Magnets!! Here’s how. First select your favorite page of sheet music. Pick three colors of acrylic paint radomly with your brush letting some of the notes peek through. The blocks I used in my document are 2×3 inches so I can layer it onto something else. For the magnet, I used a piece of Stampbord 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. Create a document the same size as your project and insert text with the DT Mandolyn font. Stamp flowers using the “huffing” method. Use a sheet of paper as a mask so that you won’t stamp into another square. Add color to the flowers with alcohol pens. Stamp/flourish with Lettuce Adirondak ink. Stamp the flourish with Clover Adirondak ink. Spray the entire project with a light coat Krylon Matte Finish. Make sure it is completely dry before continuing on your project. Print your word document onto your project. Stamp the butterfly using Sail Boat Blue Adirondak ink. Heat set the entire project and spray again with Krylon Matte Finish. Cut squares apart. Spray the Stampbord with Lettuce Color Wash and Blue Hawaii Memory Mist. Heat set. Stamp the Stampbord with Versa Mark and emboss with silver embossing powder. Adhere the paper square to the front of the stamp-board. Use a drill or dremel tool to pierce a small hole in the bottom right corner. Attach the large beads to wire and twist the end, place through the hole and secure. Apply glue to cover the hole and sprinkle with small glass beads. Attach magnet to the back.

SUPPLIES:

Coasters

Ann Butler

The Duetica Lettering System is perfect for so many projects and is so easy to use. I make coasters as gifts because they are quick and easy and the results are always great. Now with the Duetica Lettering System I can personalize them….how perfect is that!

I printed out a simple initial onto white copy paper using size 166 point font. I used the Fast Finish Decoupage on the title and the back of the initial using a paint brush and positioned the initial on the center of the tile. Let it dry. Then I added 4 coats of the Fast Finish Decoupage on top to give it a protective coating. The results are fabulous and would make wonderful gifts for everyone you know! ENJOY!

Back to School Bottle

Niki Meiners

Give a quick and easy gift to your child’s teacher with this “sticky glue” soda. It is a gift and a school supply all rolled into one. Fill a two liter bottle with glues sticks to be used in the class room. Most teachers would love to have the extra supplies. You could make different flavor sodas using a variety of supplies. For example, how about “pencil punch” as a second drink mix? The variety of kicky lettering options in the Duetica DT Saxi font will give each soda a unique look. It is a gift that will keep on giving the whole semester long.

Empty 2 Liter Soda Bottle
Paper
Stick on embellishments

Yummy!

Becky Conley

I always start a scrapbook page with the with photo and let it tell me how the rest of the layout is going to feel. This adorable young lady is my grand baby, Ryan. She’s being very silly and having a great time enjoying her watermelon and the warm weather that we don’t see often enough in Maine. I wanted this layout to be whimsical and fun, like when you run through a field of wildflowers and the butterflies swarm. Duetica.com offers gorgeous DT Piper and DT Saxi fonts worked beautifully with this theme.
