Tag Box

Eileen Hull

My daughter had to go to the hospital recently, so I decided to make her a tag box to hold all her tags and get well wishes. I cut out three Notebook Pocket dies from the red, white and blue mat board pieces in a Big Shot machine. I laid out the nameplate in Illustrator using the Duetica Piper font. The Duetica software allows you to test out many versions of each letter so you can customize the word or phrase to look just how you want it. I printed out the text (as a mirror image) onto Grafix Rub-Onz film, and then transferred the design to the tag box. I next tacked three boxes together, and wrapped a strip of kraft paper around the top and taped it in place. I used my sewing machine to sew a paper ruffle to add as an embellishment. The red, white and blue color theme reflects her job- she’s a LTJG in the Coast Guard, and definitely brought a smile to her face as she dutifully recovered.
