Best Friends Forever

Christy Monge

My daughter is truly my best friend. We have been through so much. For many years we only had each other and we were so close. Now that she is in college I am proud to say that I not only love her, but like and admire her as a person. She is always there for me and this layout is for her. The chic pattern really capture her sense of style, and the Duetica DT Mandolyn font is such a pretty script. I love the way that the letters flow, and how you have so many choices of flares to choose from for each and every letter.

All You Need Is Love

Candice Windham

I love the Beatles, but more than just the Fab Four, I love Lennon/McCartney lyrics. That’s why the first thing that came to mind when I set out to create a project using the Duetica Lettering Arts software, was All you need is love. This door hanger says it all. We usually don’t think of brown and beige as the colors of love, but then again, love is all you need, no matter what color it is.

The Duetica Lettering Arts Studio makes it easy to get the letters to behave just the way you want. I used one DT Mandolyn font option for the L and set the additional letters (OVE) in the DT Mandolyn font as well, but with different letter options. I also moved the L closer to the o using the letter spacing button in the software. This makes the perfect wall hanging because it weighs very little. That wood-look base is really Smoothfoam®. Any weight comes from the hardware.

Note: This is actually a recycled piece of Smoothfoam. I made several clocks for the Craft and Hobby Tradeshow and Convention. One was a fatality in the shipment home, so I used it for the heart shape.

Spring Fever

Jaclyn Keys

It’s finally starting to feel like spring here in Pennsylvania.  After a snowy start to April and wearing winter jackets to Easter dinner, the grass is finally green and the trees are no longer bare.  The only problem with the nice weather is that we are all suffering from a mild case of spring fever! To capture this sentiment for a future project, I used the Duetica DT Woodwynds font. This font, with its swirling vines adds that budding sense of life to my lettering. I love how you can use the Duetica Lettering Arts Studio to adjust just how many vines each letter has, and how close the letters are to each other. It really brings this project to life, and after all that is what spring is all about.

Tenley Capri – Birth Announcement

Ann Butler

My granddaughter “Tenley Carpi” was born last month and I thought I would create a keepsake using the Duetica Lettering Arts System to capture this special moment. I love the swirls of the DT Woodwynd font and the beauty of the DT Mandolyn font and the Duetica Lettering System make it is so easy to personalize whatever you want to create. I created the “T” in the DT Woodwynd font and placed it on the left side of an 8 1/2″ x 11″ landscape document. I created the name in the DT Mandolyn font and placed it in a text box centered on the bottom right of the document; creating and placing the date ( which was also done in DT Mandolyn and the numbers were done in the DT Woodwynd font) directly below the name. I printed this out on a tone on tone yellow decorative cardstock with pink ink. I then used my laser square to layer and line everything up, gluing in place. Then used gem tac to adhere the crystals to highlight the “T”. I love how it turned out plus it was quick and easy to create.

Easter Fun

Jaclyn Keys

When I think of Spring, Easter immediately comes to mind! My niece and nephew had a great time decorating Easter Eggs and finding them the next day. This page was so easy to create using some digital elements I had from another project, and a spring green background. The Duetica DT Woodwynds font with all its pretty vines adds a spring has sprung energy to my final design.

LOL – She’s a Cutie

Christy Monge

My niece has the best laugh! I love the way she throws her head back in pure joy when she cracks herself up. Once again I created my own background paper using Duetica fonts. I created a line of LOL’s in the program and copy and pasted them into the background paper. Creating your own unique word background papers has never been easier with Duetica. For this project I incorporated the playfulness of the Duetica DT Riley and DT Piper fonts.

Slainte – St. Patrick’s Day Card

Niki Meiners

Slainte – Good health to you for St. Patrick’s Day. What a better way to say that than with a clean and simple card. Creating cards for whimsical holidays is fun and does not have to be complicated. Print out a quick saying to go along with the holiday. Cut it out and ink the edges. Place a few 3d dots underneath. Place ribbon on the card and the saying over top and add a printed image. For this card I used, kraft cardstock, black and white ribbon, a cut out of a shamrock from JGoodies designs, and the whimsical Duetica DT Piper font. VOILA- a fun and creative card made quickly.

SUPPLIES:
Natural Kraft cardstock
Sour apple ink
Black and White Polka Dot ribbon
Beacon Adhesive – Fabri-Tac 3-d Dots

How Do I Love Thee?

Candice Windham

This card was created using the Duetica Lettering Arts Studio software and Viva Décor Pearl Pens. Duetica makes custom type so easy to create and there are hundreds of variations. I used the Duetica DT-Mandolyn font, which is my favorite, mostly because I can add beautiful swirls to the letters and make them wrap around themselves. You could set this up on your computer and leave it as is, printed in black, white and red and it would be fine, but let’s add some layers and bling it up a little to take it to the next level! After I thought I was finished with my card, I left this on my work table for a while and then realized it needed some Ice White Pearl Pen. That made all the difference in the world.

Amour – Valentine Card

Lori Servies

This is what I love about Duetica Fonts! I can use the different lettering styles of each font to make an elaborate statement or one that is very simple. With this art, composing my own phrases in the Duetica DT Piper font is a snap while still producing a beautiful and simple sentiment. I am not constrained to stamping generic words from wood blocks! For this card, I printed the word “Amour” which means “love.” I also used the character spacing in the Duetica Design Studio to weld my letters together. Except for the letter “A,” each letter actually touches the one preceding it. This element gives us another tool in our box to design these finishing touches to our cards, layout pages, etc.
