Matching Mother’s Day Card

Jaclyn Keys

I created this simple project to match a store bought gift bag that was yellow with pink ribbon handles. After spending a good half hour looking through the Mother’s Day card section of my local Target, I decided that none of the cards said exactly what I wanted them to. So I went home to create my own. The materials used in this project were plain colored cardstock in pink and yellow. I used my Silhouette SD to cut the shape of the card and the butterfly on the front, and printed the flowers and word Mom onto the yellow cardstock from the Silhouette Studio program before cutting the cardstock into the corresponding shape using the Silhouette cutter. The word Mom was created using the beautiful Duetica DT Woodwynds font, and was adorned with clear rhinestones. Pink rhinestones were also used to add dimension to the butterfly.
