Cousins

Christy Monge

I took this picture at my niece’s Baptism. My daughter, Briana adores her new cousin Ava. And can you blame her with that adorable face. I only wanted one picture for this layout because I felt it said everything. It also had to be “girly” and fresh. I think they will have many “girl nights’ ahead of them! The love and grace these two already share shines through in this photo, the Duetica DT Mandolyn font helped enhance this feeling in my digital layout.

Award Winning

Becky Conley

We are hosting a Halloween party and beyond the standard trick-or-treat candy, we are including a costume contest. To make the judging (and winning) more official we needed custom award ribbons for each of our costume categories. To make the ribbons, I made a 4″ circle of cardstock and ruffled a 1.5″ strip of black cardstock around it. The Duetica DT Piper font was perfect for the award categories. This font captures the very essence of the “classic” film “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Each award title was printed onto 3.5 circle and attached over it. Ribbon tails are 2″ x 6″.

Anytime is Cooking Time

Niki Meiners

Recently I participated in a Recipe Swap. In this swap each participant had to collect 30 of their favorite recipes and burn them to a CD. We were then to decorate the CD holder of our choice in any manner we chose. I went to Archivers and they had a whole section of recipe and cooking paper collections. As soon as I saw the retro images in this collection I knew what paper and what font I wanted to use. I decided to go retro, as some of the recipes I included were from my grandmother. The Duetica DT Piper font was a good mix of retro and light hearted fun, perfect for a collection of recipes that warm your tummy as well as your heart!

Family Fun Book

Kathy Peterson

This is a mini scrapbook made from Kaiser Craft paper, embellishments and pressed board. My inspiration for this little book was to use it as a family photo display that could be placed on a tabletop either laying down or propped up. No special techniques were needed here –just simple cuts of paper and embellishments glued together to create a festive and fun photo display.

Thanks

Kristie Taylor

When you need to tell someone thank you, nothing says it better than a hand-made thank you card. Both card examples used Duetica Lettering Arts studio’s DT Piper and DT Tin Whistle fonts. I combined them with Cuttlebug embossing folders embellishments, staz-on inks, helmar adhesive, using papers from www.thepapertemptress.com.

Faith N’ Fun

Christy Monge

My daughter’s choir retreat is always one of the highlights of my summer. I love chaperoning and watching these kids sing and have so much fun bonding in friendship and faith. I didn’t have to think hard for this layout. I knew I wanted bright, summer colors to go with the mood of the event. The Duetica DT Tin Whistle font brought in that jump for joy spirit of summer.

Happy Girl Frame

Niki Meiners

I needed a quick gift for a friend who was stopping by. Her baby girl is the smiliest little girl ever. She calls her “happy girl.” I thought a picture frame would be perfect. I painted the frame and while it was drying I cut the paper and printed the tag. I used the Duetica DT Piper font because it has that same happy-to-be-here feeling. Here is a tip for printing on a pre-cut tag: Print a test copy of the sentiment. Hold the the tag over the test print. If it is perfect then use removable adhesive to place the pre-cut tag over the test print and re-print. If it is the wrong size repeat this step until you get it correct. Luckily for me I got it positioned perfectly the first time. I gave the tag dimension by adding Liquid Scrap Dots.

Many Thanks

Becky Conley

This project is a quick and easy monogrammed thank you card. I used my Cricut digital cutter to cut out the monogram letter (any digital cutter will do) and the 1 3/4″ circle . The card is 4.25 x 5.5″. The “Thank You” sentiment was created using the Duetica Letter Arts system and the DT Mandolyn font. On your own cards, rather than just saying Thank You, add a more specific sentiment, like “Thanks for a Wonderful Evening,” to make your card even more personal and special.

Reflections & Adventures – A Retiree’s Journal

Candice Windham

Celebrations always mark some sort of milestone: a birth, a birthday, a new job,a wedding, etc. I chose to use retiring as a celebration, which I have done twice, both times from the same company and same job. But that’s another story…. When I retired the first time, I looked back over my 25 years with the company and could hardly believe I had been there that long. I wish I had kept a journal of my reflections at the time, because I can barely remember details of the things I thought I would never forget. This book is designed to be used by the retiree to jot down memories of the past (Reflections) and dreams for the future (Adventures). Right now, school supplies are dirt cheap. I always use this time of year to stock up on index cards, post-it notes, crayons, pencils and notebooks, especially the old-fashioned composition book, which I snagged this week at WalMart for 40¢ each. Add some scrapbook paper, some embellishments and a little time and you have a great gift for less than $3.

I Love You So Much

Kathy Peterson

This is a fun way to tell someone you really love them. I used some of my original artwork to frame the quote then printed it out on 8.5 x 11 paper. Next I glued the paper to a blue piece of cardstock and then glued it onto a black mat board. No special techniques were needed here.
