Golden Moment

This was my daughter’s last Homecoming. There will be many last moments this year but they will all be “golden.” I also wanted to capture the happy expression on Briana and her boyfriend’s faces. They look like they don’t have a care in the world. Don’t we all remember our first love this way? This digital page was created using Erica Belton’s Join the Dance kit. The titles and sentiments were created using the Duetica Lettering Arts Studio software and DT Mandolyn font. With so many options to choose from for each letter, I was able to bring forward the fluidity of a dance with the formality of this grand occasion.

Faith and Family

This simple wall art let’s the world know what is most important to me. I love my family and gain so much strength from my faith. The Duetica DT Mandolyn font really captured this for me. The font has so many alternates for each and every letter. It was fun flipping through the letters until I found just the right one for each word. The best part is that the Duetica Lettering Arts Studio online app makes this both easy and fun. It only took a couple of minutes to craft my very personal word art.

Favorite Fall Leaves

Fall is definitely in the air, and I wanted to create some wall art to commemorate the season. I used my favorite Duetica font DT Mandolyn to communicate my message. What I love about the Duetica fonts is they have so many alternates for each letter. It allows me to create lettering art that looks like it was done by a professional calligrapher! I then cut a bunch of leaves out of heavy duty paper. On a thick piece of fun foam, I drew lines on the back of the leaf with a stylus, pressing into the paper to create veins. Next, I drag leaf across stamp pads randomly to show veins. Finally I inked the edges to give the leaves that fresh fallen to the ground look.

Super Special Sweetie

The farm by our house has pick your own berries and they also make ice cream. Their specialty is Strawberry. The strawberry season is over but the moment was captured in this scrapbook layout . Baby Gigi loved her very first bite of ice cream and you can see the delight in her eyes. The title of the page uses the Duetica DT Floot font. I love creating with this font. There are so many alternates for each letter. Notice how all the different “S’s” add some strawberry sass to this page, and best of all, I can say it with my own words (instead of someone else’s when using word art or stamps).

Fun Flowers

I have so much fun designing with Duetica fonts. With so many alternate letter styles, no two designs are exactly alike, which really allows your creativity to shine through. Whenever I through a party, I always decorate with flowers, so for me, flowers and fun truly do go hand in hand. With this design, I used the Duetica DT Mandolyn font. I just love all of its many flowing swashes, it reminds me of flowers gently swaying in the breeze.

Baby Jane

We love our Baby Jane, and who couldn’t, she is such a doll. This title was created with DT TinWhistle and DT Piper fonts. I created an over-sized font in color, then layered the next font boldly in black. Then I added a fun line of happy words within the stripes of papers. The page came together so quickly. I used my die cut to stamp out the rounded corner mat, and then added stripes with strips of paper.

Healing Thoughts

It is amazing what you can do with duct tape these days. The kids at school are all busy making wallets, but I was inspired to make a mini-album instead. With pink being the order of the day, I grabbed a roll of pink colored duct tape and got right to work. Duct tape has an interesting texture which I was able to bring out with some stamping. I then found some pink zebra-striped duct tape and used it to fashion a flower for the front. The Duetica DT Mandolyn font is one of my all time favorites, since I can alter the letters to give it a calligrapher’s flair. It was perfect for my Healing Thoughts sentiment.

One of my goals this year was to have more cards on hand. I always seem to need a card, and have to make that quick trip to the store. However, I love this Sunshine collection from My Mind’s Eye, and wanted to create a quick card. These papers have an elegant feel to them, and it paired beautifully with the Duetica DT Mandolyn font! It was the perfect finishing detail to my sentiment. I was able to add my sentiment directly on label of the patterned paper.

One of my favorite holidays is Halloween! I love seeing the joy in my children’s faces as they dress up on this spooky day! On this page I used an older line by Fancy Pants called Trick or Treat! I did hand stitching around a large circle to create movement on this page! The Duetica DT Floot font was perfect for my title, EEKS. I love being able to manipulate my text on my crafts.
