Tribute to My Grandmother

Christy Monge

I created an 8×8 companion page (to the page I did for my mom) as a tribute to my grandmother and great-grandmother. Never a day goes by that I don’t think of my grandmother and my great-grandmother. I still miss them after all these years. I used stitching on this layout to represent how my grandmothers knitted our family together with all their traditions. The swirls and vines of the Duetica DT Woodwynds font that I used for “Grandmother” really matched the flower design. I liked how the gentle, yet formal flair of the Duetica DT Mandolyn font added a touch of grace to my personalized sentiment, “forever in my heart.”

Tribute to My Mom

Christy Monge

I see or talk to my mom almost every day, and she has been my rock through some pretty tough times. I hope that I am half the mom that she is. I created this 8×8 layout as a tribute to my mom. I loved the vintage colors and all the stitching in this kit from Shabby Princess called Clementine. And since moms are the ones who hold it all together, it felt appropriate to use a lot of stitching in the layout. The swirls and curls of the Duetica DT Woodwynds font add that free-flowing, feminine touch to “Mom,” and the gentle, yet formal flair of the Duetica DT Mandolyn font adds a touch of grace to my personalized sentiment, “thank you for being there for me.”

Sweet Mother’s Day Card

Suzanne Sergi

I created this beautiful Mother’s Day card for my Mom. This card uses the Duetica font, Woodwynds! A favorite of mine, and a perfect fit for the new collection, Sweet Afternoon by Teresa Collins. I love anything pink, and it looks so soft with the touches of gray. Since this is a font and not a stamp, I was able to size my simple sentiment: Happy Mother’s Day to perfectly fit my design. I think this helps to get my message across to my fabulous mom. I miss her so much, and wish I lived closer to her.

SUPPLIES:
Card stock
Patterned Paper, Sweet Afternoon – Teresa Collins
Jewels

Mother’s Day Gift Bag

Suzanne Sergi

A Mother’s Day Card needs a pretty bag to house a gift certificate, and maybe a chocolate or two. This bag uses the Duetica Woodwynd’s font for a single letter to create a monogram. My mom’s name is Mary, and thought this gave it a more formal touch. I also typed the sentiment using Duetica DT Woodwynds font. I love all the curls, and twist. Perfect to enhance the fun party garland along the bottom of the bag. What I love most about Duetica, is that they give you so many different options for each letter than the traditional font!

Paper Bag – small white

We Scream for Ice Cream

Christy Monge

I created this invitation with every intention of printing it. However, my daughter pointed out it could just be posted on Facebook- so we went “green” this year. Everyone still loved it and the digital kit from Elizabeth Weaver was perfect. The Duetica DT Floot font really said “ice cream” to me, you could almost feel it dripping as it melted. I am glad that my 18 year old still appreciates a good old fashioned ice cream party!!

SUPPLIES:
Card created in Photoshop Elements
Digital Kit: “Ice Cream Dream” by Elizabeth Weaver for The Digital Scrapbook Place

Easter Egg Holders

Kathy Peterson

Need a quick idea to spice up your table this Easter? No matter if you’re serving breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, this idea will spread a happy message to your guests. I’m serving breakfast this Easter and thought it would be fun to “doll up” my egg holders with the Duetica DT Tin Whistle font So I got on my computer and over-layed two layers of fonts to give it a little more depth. Once you print it out and cut it to size, secure it to the egg holder. This same idea could be used for napkin rings, coasters and more.

Easter Door Decoration

Candice Windham

Hasn’t this been one of the most glorious spring seasons ever? We’re only a few days into it and every thing is blooming here in Tennessee. I always decorate the door of my Sunday School class with seasonal decor, and this is one of my favorites. I made it using Eileen Hull’s Cupcake die from Sizzix, Duetica Lettering Arts Studio’s Woodwynds font, scrap cardstock and Viva Décor’s Ice White Pearl Pen. I loved the springtime swirls on the Duetica DT Woodwynds font. To create the title, I opened the file in Photoshop or other photo/drawing program and used airbrush tool to alter colors for a graduated appearance. Then I print it on white cardstock and trim.
SUPPLIES:
Duectica Lettering Studio Software
Photoshop or other photo/drawing software

Big Shot
Scrap cardstock

1 ¾” and 1 ¼” circle punches
Assorted small flower punches
Chipboard cut into a circle (mine was an 8 ½” circle) with center removed, leaving a 2” ring
